Welcome!
Welcome to the Omro Area Community Center! Since 1995, the doors of the Omro Area Community Center have been open to people from all walks of life, and of all generations, in the Omro Area. The Omro Area Community Center is committed to strengthening the lives of individuals, families, and the community by offering health, educational, economic, and intergenerational opportunities.
Who We Are
The Center was built on the philosophy that people of all ages can learn and grow with each other while gaining an appreciation for the gifts that each age group brings to our community. This philosophy stems from the negative results seen throughout the country as we increasingly separate our youth from older adults. Older adults provide our youth with a sense of history, a good role model, good work ethic, and a strong set of values. Youth provide our older adults with a renewed sense of energy, a positive role, a sense of purpose, and the opportunity to impact the future. Therefore, the Center takes it role of providing intergenerational opportunities very seriously.
The Omro Area Community Center is a 501 (c)(3) organization that is governed by a seven member board of directors and is overseen by an executive director. Keeping us strong is our membership base. To become a member, please contact Marion at 920.685.0380 x 21.
This historic building, formerly the home of the Omro High School gymnasium, has been renovated to accommodate the various needs of the community. The first floor boasts a large multipurpose room used for church services, bridal/baby showers, family get-togethers and more; a commons area; a kitchen with all the amenities; restroom facilities; and contains offices housing the Community Center staff, the Omro Chamber of Commerce and the Community Development Department. The second floor holds the office to the American Legion Post 234, a medical room, a meeting room/computer lab and is also home to the Access Omro channel.
